Nov. 24 Will Be the Last Day of Business at Spice Bridge
Dear Spice Bridge supporters,
It has been a challenging year for our parent organization, Global to Local, due to a lack of sustainable and consistent funding combined with rising costs. Our board of directors has decided that the most responsible path is to close down Global to Local. This includes closing our offices and Spice Bridge, and ending all operations including Food Innovation Network, the Food Business Incubator program at Spice Bridge, our Community Health Worker program, and our Healthy Communities program.
We are doing all we can to support our community, clients and staff. Our top priority continues to be upholding equity, kindness, and transparency as we go through this transition.
What’s in store for the next couple of months:
- Nov. 24 will be the last day of business at Spice Bridge. We hope you will come out to support the entrepreneurs before the closure.
- We are supporting a Food Business Incubator program graduate in taking over the Spice Bridge lease. Their plan is to continue to offer commercial kitchen and sales space at a market rate. More news on that soon!
- Tukwila Village Farmers Market will find a new home with a long-term community partner. Once that is official, we will make an announcement.
How you can help:
The businesses who will graduate from our incubator program will still offer catering and sell at local markets and festivals. Some have plans to open their own restaurants and cafes in the future. Please follow them on social media and keep them in mind for catering:

Our board and staff teams are sad that this time has come. I am proud of what the staff, clients and community have accomplished in addressing health equity and food justice in South King County over the past 14 years. Working with Global to Local as a volunteer, program coordinator, manager, director and now interim executive director has been a true joy in my life, even during these complicated times. We are thankful for you, our community, who we know will continue this important work.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
